Asanga Abeyagoonasekera

Abeyagoonasekera currently serves as the Senior Advisor on Security and Geopolitics and is a Senior Fellow at the Millennium Project in Washington DC. Additionally, he leads the South Asia Foresight Network as its Executive Director. His former roles include Director General of the National Security Think Tank of Sri Lanka and advisor at the International Monetary Fund. Academically, he holds a BSc in Computer Science, an MBA, and has studied Counter Terrorism at Harvard University. He has authored several impactful books including "Teardrop Diplomacy" and "Conundrum of an Island". His career also encompasses roles such as Adviser to the Minister of External Affairs of Sri Lanka and Chairman of the Foreign Employment Agency and Fishery Harbours Corporation. He is also a founding curator of the Global Shapers Colombo Hub and Country Chair of Global Dignity.
